This is the world's first 1/48-scale injection kit of the Skyshark! The A2D Skyshark is a turboprop carrier-capable aircraft developed by Douglas for the U.S. Navy. The prototype XA2D, which first flew in 1950, uses the A-1 Skyraider's tail wings, but the fuselage and main wings were redesigned due to engine replacement. A significant improvement in performance was seen compared to the A-1, and more than 300 Skysharks were ordered, but the Navy canceled the order in 1952 due to the low reliability of the engine, which had a complicated structure. Two of the prototype XA2D-1 and 10 of the production version of the A2D-1 were built.
Details such as the cockpit, landing gear, intake and exhaust pipe are realistically reproduced, and the main wing can be assembled either folded or unfolded. Two types of canopies are included -- open and closed -- as are resin ejection seats, two types of exhaust pipes, photo-etched parts and decals for four versions. Order yours now!
