BPK 1:72 P-8A Poseidon
SKU:BPK7222
The P-8 is a patrol aircraft developed in the United States, and is a modified version of the 737, a small passenger aircraft. The U.S. Navy began researching a successor to the P-3 patrol aircraft in the mid-1980s, and in 2000, a competition was started between aircraft manufacturers. This machine was originally called 737MMA (Multimission Marine Aircraft), and when it was selected in 2004, the Navy adopted it as the P-8A Poseidon. The U.S. military started using this aircraft in 2013, and currently, besides the U.S. Navy, it is being operated by the Australian Air Force, the Royal Air Force, and the Indian Navy; several other countries are planning or considering its introduction.
Big Planes Kits's model kit of the P-8A Poseidon features newly molded winglets, turret type FLIR and AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles! Photo-etched parts, painting mask seals, and resin engine parts are also included. Decals for the Australian Air Force and the U.S. Navy's VX-1 squadron are included; the decals for the Australian Air Force include all aircraft serial numbers, so any aircraft can be reproduced.
