Among the German tanks of World War II, the Panzer IV series can be said to be their main battle tank. It was planned as a support tank, and thanks to its relatively spacious body design, it was able to respond to various upgrades. The first mass-produced Panzer IV was the D type; over 200 of this vehicle were produced from October 1939 to May 1941. The body and turret have a linear design, and the main gun was a short-barreled 7.5cm tank gun, KwK37/L24. It was also characterized by increasing the thickness of the armor on the sides and rear of the hull. Starting with the invasion of France, it was active on a wide range of fronts, including the North African Front and the Eastern Front. 

This model kit from Dragon reproduces the armored version of the Panzer IV D type. The armor plates attached to the entire hull, the spaced armor attached to the front of the battle compartment, and the mantlet armor plate equipped on the front of the turret are all realistically modeled. Bolts reproduced on the surface bring an impression of strength; the interior is also modeled in detail, including the 24-caliber 75mm gun. In addition, parts such as the driver's hatch, communicator hatch, transmission access hatch, steering brake access hatch, mantlet viewport and more can be assembled opened or closed. The commander's cupola is accurately reproduced using a five-way slide mold. A built-in Magic Track is included, and a metal gun barrel complete with rifling is included.
