One of the half-tracks deployed and operated by the German Army in World War II was the Sd.Kfz.251. It was an armored personnel carrier based on the 3t half-track, and many derivative types were made in addition to the basic armored personnel carrier type. The type equipped with a rocket launcher on the side of the car was a notable version; the Wurfrahmen 40 rocket launcher frame used 28cm high-explosive rockets and 32cm incendiary rockets, and was developed in the late 1940s. Rockets have a maximum range of 1900m for 28cm high-explosive bullets and 2200m for 32cm incendiary bullets; the Sd.Kfz.251 was equipped with pipe frames on both sides of the body so that a total of six launchers could be mounted while leaving the interior of the vehicle as it was. It was mainly deployed in armored engineer companies.
