The M4 Sherman was a 30-ton class medium tank that was developed and manufactured in the United States during World War II, boasting high mobility and firepower. The M4A3E8 was the final model of the M4 series used by the U.S. Army; it appeared in the latter half of the Battle of the Bulge. A total of 2,539 of this vehicle were produced between August 1944 and September 1945. After the war, it was also provided to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and other NATO countries.
