Before acquiring the coarse sanding sticks, I had only ever used the fine and medium sticks (as these were the only ones available from my local hobby shop), which I think are fantastic and work very well, and last a long time (would give those a 5 star rating). When using the coarse sticks to sand some wooden circle edges, I found that they smoothed off very quickly and lost their coarseness. In fact I reverted back to the medium sticks which sanded a lot faster with a better finish, and for a longer period of time. I was hoping that the coarse sticks would do the job quicker but this was not the case. Perhaps with less aggressive work they may perform well but I feel that the medium and fine sticks do a better job.
