This model kit from Special Hobby is a completely new mold! The Bugatti 100P is a racing airplane planned by the French automobile manufacturer Bugatti in 1938. Bugatti's founder, Ettore Bugatti, began designing the 100P with Louis de Monge as the chief designer to win the 1940 air race, the Deutch de la Murto Cup. However, the aircraft was not completed in time for the race application deadline (September 1939), and it was not able to participate. When World War II broke out, the 100P was hidden in a barn in the countryside; it was rediscovered after the war, and is now in display at the EAA Air Venture Museum in the United States. Although it wasn't possible to actually fly the aircraft, a project to make a flyable replica of the 100P was started in 2009; it made its first flight in 2015. The fuselage is an all-wood monoplane made of balsa and laminated hardwood, with forward wings and a V-tail with air intakes on the leading edge. The landing gear is retractable, and it's equipped with two Bugatti-developed Type 50C 450-horsepower engines in the fuselage at the rear of the cockpit, to drive the nose's counter-rotating propeller. It was planned to achieve a maximum speed of approximately 805km/h.

This model kit includes a resin air intake, exhaust pipe, and landing gear hangar parts.
