Due to my geographical location I've only been able to purchase mainly Tamiya acrylics in store (prefer to support local business) and am not a fan of laquer paints.
I discovered Vallejo Air paints purely by chance but also mainly laziness as I couldn't be arsed faffing about trying to mix Tamiya paints to what was required for the kit so I purchased the paint set as it had everything I needed and also looked pretty darn good.
Well... how much have I been missing out? Quite a bit, apparently. The paints are awesome.
No messing around with thinners, mixing or anything else, just squeeze the paint into the airbrush cup with (on average) a coupla drops of flow improver and you're away laughing. I was so impressed that on a recent visit to Christchurch I had the chance to visit Acorn Models, so I bought three more sets.
Also, seems to me to be better value as the bottles are 17ml as opposed to the Tamiya 10ml but not (IMHO) overly expensive. I'm sold!
